Points are awarded as follows:
Two (2) points for each IT2 Jump Start registered driver beaten on the track
One (1) bonus point for winning (among Jump Start entrants)
One (1) consolation point for finishing last
Two (2) points for being the only Jump Start registered entrant.
Only one entrant = 2 points
Two entered JS cars
First place = 2 points (beat one car) + 1 point (win bonus) = 3 points
2nd place = 1 point (consolation point)
Three entered JS cars
First = 2 (beat 2nd place) + 2 (beat 3rd place) + 1 (win bonus) = 5 points
2nd = 2 points (beat one car)
3rd = 1 point
Four entered JS cars
First = 2+2+2+1 (beat three plus bonus) = 7 points
2nd = 2+2 = (beat two) 4 points
3rd = 2 points
4th = 1 point
If IT2-eligible cars are running in more than one race group at a given event (e.g., Washington DC Region MARRS events, where ITS and ITA are run separately), points will be awarded within each group. Points may be earned for multiple races run concurrently at a venue (e.g., a "Double Regional"), but not by running multiple classes in one race event.
Jump Start Promo Bonus Points - IT2 Jump Start participants may also earn up to three (3) bonus points for promotional appearances. One (1) point will be awarded each time the car is displayed (with its IT2 stickers) at a public event (e.g., auto show, mall display, or parade), up to a maximum of two (2) points. Additionally, one (1) point will be awarded if the IT2 car competes at an event outside of the championship(s) under which the Jump Start participant is registered (e.g., autocross, rallycross, or road race with another sanctioning body) up to a maximum of two (2) points. Submit a digital photo of your car at the event to claim each bonus point. Bonus points count toward the Jump Start total. Bonus points are indicated in red.
Nationwide Driver Points - IT2 Jump Start points will be kept to allow entrants to compare their points, among regions and sanctioning organizations.
Manufacturer Points - It might be interesting to keep track of manufacturer points - regionally, nationally or both. It could be beneficial to IT2 entrants if a zone or regional dealer's office received a certificate indicating that the brand was being recognized for its "championship". Discussion of this suggestion is welcome.
